We practice community-based design and are strongly committed to using architecture to help address social inequity through housing, healthcare, education, and mixed-use projects. Jr. Architectural Designer, PT

About the Opportunity

The ideal candidate understands the power of the built environment and therefore the responsibility to create a more equitable city through design. In this position you will have the opportunity to work with experienced architects on a range of projects. You will participate in the research and design process and learn about building policy, including zoning laws, ADA, and HPD requirements. You will draft, liaise with various consultants, and be on construction site visits.

About You

You are an ideal candidate if you are:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree of Architecture from an accredited program.

  • Able to work a minimum of 18 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Organized, detailed-oriented, and a fast-learner.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suites.

  • Pleasant to work with, and have an ability to present ideas.

Salary

  • Salary starts at $20+/hour, commensurate with experience and potential.

Technical Director - FT

About the Opportunity

Amie Gross Architects is looking for an individual who prioritizes the socially responsible work that AGA designs upon, to assume the position of Technical Director. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the team in the production and development of documents for both new and renovation projects with construction values past $50,000,000.

  • Managing the production of construction drawing sets, specifications, and DOB filing documents for multiple projects.

  • Coordinating with Project Managers on a regular basis to discuss project scheduling and allocation of time for staff members on projects.

  • Assisting as needed in the production of construction documents.

  • Managing the workflow, quality, and schedule adherence at AGA.

 

About You

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

  • Significant experience with the production and coordination of Contract Documents

  • Full proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and related programs

  • Thorough knowledge of NYC Building Codes

  • Enthusiasm for problem solving and approaching challenges with curiosity and creativity

  • An interest in mentoring and learning from others in our team environment
